What does't thout mean? Sometimes people have different meaning of the term. You're talking about long exposures or multiple exposure stitched together as a movie or something?

    Sample?

Katrin Eismann likes to do them, I've seen a few of hers and they were pretty cool... (If you don't know who she is you should really look her up as she's been one of my inspirations for a long time)

Heather I will say a few things ...
#1 what a waste of time that first video was, 10,000 meaningless photos!! thanks for the warning
#2 I've recently purchased an a "Shoot Intervalometer" It was well worth the price $18.76 & yes it's not a name brand $129.42.:)
    http://www.amazon.com/Timer-Remote-...RERY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314061351&sr=8-1 :ok:
    I've used it a few times & it works like a charm.:D
#3 Watching ice melt is like watching a clock move ..
#4 If you don't know if you need it you probably don't:WOW:
    #5 WHY ?:?:

Just wondering, what this will do to the shutter life of the camera! Doesn't it have specified life, and then you have to replace it? :?:

and heres my 3rd attempt at it...i havent tried anything else yet...i want to do another star one before it gets too cold out.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9cJmUX0cjI

i have my ti-86 programmed to be an intervolometer (sp?). You set up the camera with your settings, plug in the calculator into the camera, and just let it keep snapping photos till you have enough...the stars with the car was 54, 30 second exposures, which i think was 27 minutes of photos. Hopefully i can do another video by the end of summer

cool.. i want to take one photo everyday of a piece of coral so i can see the growth . maybe for a year . I think I'm just going to set my tripod up and set my phone to go off everyday at the same time for one year to take the photo. Hope to god nothing bumps into the tripod.

id say get a wireless or wired shutter release so u have less of a chance of moving the camera when takin a pic every day

I've seen some that were done for a year or so, you always seem to get at least one little hiccup where you can see the camera move.... You'd probably want to put the camera on AC power and not the battery, most of the current cameras have an AC power supply for them.

I know my camreras have the intervalometer built in, but my remotes to too and I just use those instead...

BTW, proper spelling and definition, lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intervalometer I kept trying to write it out and I gave up and went searching...
