For anyone interested here is a good tutorial to improve one of the most important parts of a portrait - The Eyes !! http://www.popphoto.com/how-to/2011/10/software-workshop-make-those-eyes-pop?cmpid=enews101311
Please, whatever you do, don't make the "whites" of the eyes actually the color white, they aren't white but more of a creamy color...
Agreed eyes look really weird when they're white and theose that do it have to think so too unless they're blind but it's their provocative if they wish besides lots of people do lots of crap to photos these days, me included.
I have trouble with glint from my Cat's eyes which reflects green instead of the human red eye. Like to know how to cure that in Photoshop.
Cat's Eyes make the photo so either get the flash off the camera or bump your iso so you don't need a flash. I'm thinking a diffuser might help as well if you must use ocf. Now to your question to correct an image then I would suggest selcting the pupil , create a hue/saturation adjustment layer and desaturate to remove the green color then lower the lightness to darken. That should do it.
