I have a 3/4" x 2" wood furring strip that I wood like to attach directly to my tripod head plate for a project I'm doing. So when I attach the plate to the tripod the wood will be running parallel to the floor thus allowing me to change the floor to wood distance.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could accomplish this ??

It's a one shot deal so I don't want to spend much. I'm drawing a blank so anything would be appreciated even a DIY. Must be temporary & not permanent.

    Thanks Ron

No where to shoot a screw through plate ? hard to imagine... bring it to the strobist meet, I'm panning on being there.

Ariel I didn't want to shoot a screw or two through the plate & possibly ruin it or not have it seat flush.

Joe Thanks, That looks like something that would work, I'll look into it - much appreciated !!

I went to Ace hardware (F**k Home Cheapo) earlier & they had the exact T-nut you suggested, so I picked a couple up for .75ยข :) and it worked out perfect - I did coutersink it, but since there's not much weight I didn't use the opt. washer but did use the 3 wood screws. I'm using it for my DYI "Water Drop" set up at the Strobist meet on Thursday.

I haven't stepped foot in one going on 3 years now, no matter how inconvenient it may be. They're on my list :)

Better ?? I'm just trying to do it a little differently ... and I look forward to your advice/help!
