I am a human geographer, with interests in cultural landscape studies, medical/health geography and disability studies. After growing up in Missouri and Ohio and earning my bachelors degree in architecture at Ohio State, I traveled to Penn State and the University of Kentucky for my M.S. and my Ph.D. in Geography. I moved to Center City Philadelphia in June of 2001 and began teaching at Temple University that fall. Since September 1, 2002, I have been an assistant professor in the College of Education at Temple University and have been teaching summer abroad courses in Jamaica since 2003. With my partner's new position at Stony Brook University, I have recently I have moved to Comsewogue|Terryville|Port Jefferson Station, Long Island. My time is now divided between teaching and research in Jamaica, Philadelphia and Long Island. I look forward to organizing photo excursions and photowalks - there are amazing places in Long Island to be explored.
